January 8, 2009 Dear Business Partner: As I said in my email to you Tuesday evening, we are committed to keeping you updated about the current situation we are experiencing with New England Quality Care Alliance (NEQCA). These contract terminations affect approximately 100 PCPs and 340 specialists in our provider networks, effective February 1, 2009. This email provides you with additional resources we have developed to communicate to your clients and their employees (our members). We have set a high priority on continuing to develop and deliver accurate information to you, your clients, and their employees, including a special Member Service hotline1-888-404-9846. Members should refer to www.bluecrossma.com/membercentral for a list of affected providers and more information. In addition, we are in the process of sending the following communications linked below. As additional communication is released we will notify you. To mitigate the effect on our members and your business, we have continuity of care provisions that allow members to continue to see their terminating NEQCA primary care physician for 30 days after February 1, 2009, and additional provisions for members who are:
