March 2010
Dear Business Partner:
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is pleased to announce that we now have an additional option for your self-insured PPO customers. As of January 1, 2010, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts has partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont and their subsidiary CBA Inc., a third party administrator with more than 40 years experience providing self-funded administration to accounts across New England. Beginning with July 1, 2010 effective dates, Massachusetts headquartered employers with 100 or more employees will have the flexibility of a TPA coupled with the breadth and value of the Blue Cross Blue Shield National Blue Card PPO network.
Blue Benefit Administrators of Massachusetts (BBA), a newly formed subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, will offer you the ability to customize PPO plan designs, networks, and medical management and wellness programs to best fit the needs of your customers. We will also continue to offer our industry leading comprehensive suite of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts-administered self-funded PPO and HMO solutions for those customers who prefer an HMO plan design, our current Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts PPO plan designs, or the traditional Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts service model.
More information about Blue Benefit Administrators of Massachusetts will be included on the BlueLinks for Brokers website over the next several weeks, with training scheduled shortly. In the interim, if you have questions, contact your Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts sales or account executive.
Sincerely,
Tim O'Brien Senior Vice President Sales Division
