Dear Business Partner:

It is essential for you to understand the impact national health care reform (NHCR) will have on your business and your clients. That is why we have created this new email, BlueLinks eNews: National Health Care Reform Edition, dedicated solely to your national health care reform needs.

Every two weeks, you will receive an email featuring the latest national health care reform developments and regulatory updates. Editions of this special BlueLinks eNews will include:

  • Summaries of regulatory updates
  • Timely information about our plan changes
  • Access to new instructional tools, such as videos, guides, and more

This week, I would like to point you to some valuable resources already in place for you—our national health care reform web page and video. I would also like to remind you of a recent update to Temporary Reinsurance for Early Retirees, and how this important change may affect your accounts.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please share them with your account executive.

Sincerely,

Larry Croes

Temporary Reinsurance for Early Retirees

As we previously informed you, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) enables the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish a temporary reinsurance program to assist employment-based plans with the costs of providing health benefits to early retirees and their dependents. This program is known as the Temporary Reinsurance for Early Retirees Program.

On June 8, 2010, we notified you of important information released by HHS regarding updated application and claims submission procedures for the Temporary Reinsurance for Early Retirees Program. If you have not taken the time already, we encourage you to review this update on our national health care reform web page.
