Health Care Reform
Last year Massachusetts enacted a health care reform law that makes the Commonwealth the first state in the nation to provide nearly universal health care coverage. Under this law, all Massachusetts residents over age 18 must have health insurance by July 1, 2007. Those who do not meet this requirement by December 31, 2007 will lose their personal exemption when filing their 2007 state personal income taxes.
