Community Rated Voluntary plans provide employees with the dental options they need without employer contribution requirements. Community Rated plans offer fixed rates that won't change if your employee enrollment does. Members in these plans enjoy the same access to local and national provider locations through either the Indemnity or PPO provider network of dental providers depending on the dental plan selected.
Employers with 5 or more eligible enrolling employees can offer Voluntary plans and must either have a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Medical plan in place or sold along with voluntary dental plans. If an employer does not have a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Medical plan, then another product through Indigo Insurance Services must be sold alongside the voluntary plan. Providing both Dental Blue and Indigo products could qualify for a 4% discount in Dental Blue rates.
