Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) Changes for 2016

As of January 1, 2016, we’ll include online access to coverage policy documents on the Summary of Benefits and Coverage for consumers who are part of small group or individual plans. Consumers of large group (51 eligible employees or more) plans will have access to sample coverage policies. Consumers can find the web address located in the disclaimer box on page one of their SBC.

The federal Affordable Care Act requires health insurers and group health plans to provide a Summary of Benefits and Coverage to consumers. This regulation is designed to give consumers clear and consistent information about their health plan and a glossary of standard health care terms to help them better understand and evaluate their choices.
