As an alternative to Original Medicare 
and optional Medicare Part D, you can choose to get your Medicare benefits through a comprehensive health plan called a Medicare Advantage plan . All of our Medicare Advantage plans provide complete coverage for your Medicare benefits and additional benefits beyond Original Medicare, such as routine vision care, routine dental coverage, and more.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts offers two types of Medicare Advantage plans: Medicare HMO Blue PlusRx (HMO) and Medicare PPO Blue PlusRx (PPO). Each provides a different way to access care, making it easy to find a plan that meets your needs.

Medicare HMO Blue PlusRx (HMO)
Medicare HMO Blue PlusRx (HMO) has a provider network and offers you a choice of primary care physicians to coordinate your care.
Medicare PPO Blue PlusRx (PPO)
Medicare PPO Blue PlusRx (PPO) provides more flexibility to access care. You can receive services from plan providers to minimize your out-of-pocket costs, but you also have the freedom to see out-of-network physicians. You may pay more for the services you receive outside the network.
