Overcoming Insomnia

Sleep. We spend one third of our lives in bed. It is estimated that 58 percent of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts members experience some form of insomnia each year.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a widely studied, effective, long-term method for treating insomnia. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts has joined with LifeOptions to introduce CBT to our members suffering from insomnia with Overcoming Insomnia, a five-week, web-based, self-directed program that helps users adopt healthy behaviors toward sleep. You'll learn what causes loss of sleep, and what you can do to get a restful night's sleep. The CBT program will assist you in establishing goals and charting your progress. As with any program affecting your health, check with your primary care physician or other provider before beginning.
