Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts was founded in 1937 when eight community leaders formed a non-profit organization to help their neighbors afford health care. We have been here ever since, acting responsibly for our members, employees, and community. True to our founders' intent, we are passionate about strengthening and empowering the communities where our members and associates live and work. Advancing the health and wellbeing of children and families is essential to our corporate mission. Through strategic investment, targeted initiatives, and the civic leadership of our associates, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts works to improve the lives of families and communities in need.
Our vision is to help children and families throughout the Commonwealth, who face economic hardship, to thrive, learn, and lead as healthy and engaged citizens. Our Corporate Citizenship team devotes their time and expertise working within the community with a focus on making a measurable and sustainable impact in four primary areas: Healthy Child Development, Education Enrichment, Healthy Environments and Family Nutrition, and Sustainable Health Care System.
Children and families facing economic hardship, throughout the Commonwealth, will thrive, learn, and lead as healthy and engaged citizens.
