Mass Technology Leadership Council Honors Fandrich in most competitive award selection to-date
BOSTON November 19, 2010 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), a locally-based, community-focused health plan, today announced Bill Fandrich, Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO) was selected as the 2010 co-recipient of the Mass Technology Leadership Council's CIO of the Year award.
"We received more nominations than ever before, making this year's selection our most competitive to date," said Tom Hopcroft, President and CEO of Mass Technology Leadership Council. Fandrich was selected among four finalists to win the prestigious award. This was Fandrich's second selection as a finalist since joining BCBSMA in October 2008.
The 13th annual Mass Technology Leadership Awards Dinner, held Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston recognized Fandrich as well as other leaders in technology. As CIO of the Year, Fandrich was honored for his work in transforming Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts' Information Technology (IT) platform to better support BCBSMA members and accounts.
Fandrich said, "I consider this a team award versus an individual recognition. The award is the result of the hard work of all our IT associates in implementing BCBSMA's new IT operating model to better support our business and our commitment to 'Always Put our Members First'."
