I have a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts medical plan. What network should I use to search for an optometrist or an ophthalmologist?
In most cases, you'll need to use the same network as your plan. Your plan name can be found in the upper right corner of your member ID card. For example, if your plan name contains Access Blue choose HMO Blue New England.

Choose the HMO Blue® network if your plan contains only the following names:

  • HMO Blue
  • Network Blue ®
  • Managed Blue for Seniors ™
  • Blue Choice®
  • Access Blue™

Choose the Blue Care® Elect network if your plan name contains only the following:

  • Preferred Blue PPO
  • EPO
  • PPO
  • Blue Care Elect
  • Advantage Blue
  • Preferred Blue PPO

Choose the HMO Blue New England network if your plan name is:

  • HMO Blue® New England
  • Blue Choice® New England
  • Network Blue New England
  • Access Blue New EnglandSM

Choose the Medicare PPO Blue network if your member ID card reads Medicare PPO Blue.

Choose the Davis Vision Eyewear Discount Network if you're looking for eyewear. Choose the network that matches your plan name if you're looking for an optometrist or ophthalmologist to check your vision or treat an eye problem.
