Eva Wang

Diabetes is one of the most serious health problems in the United States and Eva Wang, our diabetes disease program manager, works tirelessly to help our members cope with the disease. Adults with diabetes are at increased risk for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and a variety of other complications.

"We try and work with members on the basics that will have a direct, positive impact on their lives,'' says Eva.

Eva derives particular satisfaction from personally guiding some patients through grocery store tours teaching members how to plan meals and reduce fat; how to read labels to help control blood sugar and saturated fat; how to choose foods with healthy fats so they will not increase their cardio-vascular risk. Says Eva: "Being hands-on out there in supermarkets with members is very satisfying.''
