Generic Medications

Generic medications have the same active ingredients, strength, and form (e.g., pill, liquid, injection) as their brand-name versions, but generic medications go by their chemical name (for example, atorvastatin) instead of the brand name (for example, Lipitor®′). Both types of medications must meet strict Food and Drug Administration standards.
