Doctors and Hospitals

Within the Network Blue New England Deductible Plan network, hospitals and groups of primary care providers (PCPs) are ranked into three benefits tiers based on cost and nationally accepted quality performance criteria selected by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Where you receive care will determine your out-of-pocket costs for most services under the plan. By choosing Enhanced Benefits Tier providers, you can generally lower your out-of-pocket costs.

With an HMO, you must choose a primary care provider who can help guide your care. Use the Find a Doctor & Estimate Costs tool and select "HMO Blue New England Options v.5" as your network to search for up-to-date tiering information.

After-Hours Care

If you need care and your doctor's office is closed, you have options:

Get medical advice from a Blue Cross nurse, 24/7, by calling the Blue Care LineSM toll-free at 1-888-247-BLUE (2583)

Visit a limited services clinic (such as CVS MinuteClinic®'')

Go to an urgent care center if you have an injury or illness that needs immediate attention but isn't life threatening

Emergency Care

In an emergency, go to the nearest medical facility, or call 911. You pay a $100 emergency room copay.
